PESHAWAR, 13 November: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan said on Thursday that the repatriation of the internally displaced persons (IDPs) of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) will be completed by June next year.
Addressing a function on the occasion of National Day of Turkey, the governor said about two million people were displaced due to law and order issues in FATA. He said about 180,000 IDPs have returned to their homes so far. He said all possible measures will be taken to improve the living standard of FATA people.
Mr Mehtab said the people of tribal areas rendered a great sacrifice for Pakistan by leaving their homes during the military operations. He said establishment of durable peace in FATA is top priority of the government.
