BANNU, 25 August: The repatriation process of North Waziristan TDPs has been resumed after a gap of one month on Thursday.
Officials of the Fata Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) informed that as many as 336 families including 386 men, 263 women and 729 children, were sent to Faqeeran Kali in Ghulam Khan tehsil from Bannu on Thursday.
Sources privy to the development said that process was halted for one month because the government was arranging support money for the returning families. they further said that clearing of the area from the militants was another reason for the one-month delay.
The repatriation process of the tribesmen displaced from their homes due to Operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan was started in August last year and since then more than 45 percent families have been repatriated.
FDMA officials maintained that a total of 106000 families migrated from North Waziristan due to the Operation Zarb-e-Azb.
