PESHAWAR: The Fata Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) has announced repatriation of temporarily displaced persons of Khyber tribal district from 25 June.

Officials of FDMA said most of TDPs from Tirah and Rajgal areas of Jamrud tehsil will be repatriated during the upcoming process. They said the displaced families of Kambarkhel, Kokikhel, Akakhel and Malikdinkhel will be repatriated in four phases. The returning families will get Rs10,000 for shifting charges and Rs25,000 cash. They will also get ration and clean drinking water.

Officials said the repatriation process has been initiated after improvement of law and order situation. They said all the TDPs of Bara and Tirah Maidan have been sent back.

According to the FDMA, about 87,000 families left Khyber Agency during military operation in 2009. Officials said the remaining TDPs of North Waziristan and other areas will also be repatriated soon.
