KOHAT, May 5: Residents of Mirbashkhel area in Kohat district have asked the local administration to conduct fumigation campaign and clean a canal in the area to prevent spread of malaria and dengue fever.
Local elders told TNN that the canal had not been cleaned for quite some time, adding that the mosquitoes and flies had increased in the area.
They said the malaria cases had also increased in the area, while the outbreak of dengue fever was also looming.
A local resident, Gulzar Afridi, told TNN, “You will find at least one patient of malaria in each family here. Government authorities must fumigate the area.”
