Money dealer was killed by robbers in Malakand.

MALAKAND: A currency dealer was shot dead by unknown armed men in Dargai Bazaar of Malakand over offering resistance during a robbery attempt on Monday after which the traders blocked the main roads to record their protest.

Local sources said unidentified armed men on motorcycle stopped currency dealer Muhammad Zada outside his shop and tried to snatch money from him. Muhammad Zada refused to hand over the money and offered stiff resistance after which the robbers opened fire on him, leaving him dead on the spot.

The robbers took away the money and also left behind some money in haste while escaping from the scene. Sources said Muhammad Zada was carrying with him Rs2.7 million at the time of the incident.

The infuriated traders of Dargai Bazaar placed the body of the slain currency dealer in the middle of the main road and blocked it for all kinds of traffic. The protesters chanted slogans against the administration for failing to provide security to traders due to which such incidents are happening in the area.

They set a 24 hours deadline for the local administration to arrest the killers or else they would block the main road as protest.
