PESHAWAR: Robbers on Friday allegedly shot dead Lance Naik of Pakistan army during mobile snatching attempt on the motorway, near Charssadda interchange within the jurisdiction Raisalpur Police station.
Police Inspector Alamgir Khan Kheshgi told media the Pakistan Military Academy cadet Haider Ali, who is son of General Nadir serving at General Head Quarters Rawalpindi, was en route to Islamabad from Peshawar on the motorway in his private Vehicle when they stopped to change car’s tyre after it went burst near Rashakai. Meanwhile unknown motorcyclists came from the service road to snatch their valuables and mobile phone on gunpoint.
As Ali’s gunner Lance Naik Irfan Ullah resisted, the robbers opened fire on him leaving him dead on the spot. While Ali and his driver Khalil remained unhurt in the incident.
The robbers, after committing the crime escaped from the scene while the dead body of the deceased soldier was brought to Bacha Khan Medical Complex, Mardan for post marten.
Later on the deceased body was shifted to his home in Lakki Marwat for final rituals.
The Police said they cordoned off the area and started search operation but so far no arrest is made. The police said that a case has been registered against unknown criminals and further investigation is underway.
Unknown persons opened fire on advisor to CM on education
PESHAWAR: Unknown person opened fire on Advisor to Chief Minister on education Ziaullah Bangash here on Shami road near judges’ colony on Friday night. The adviser remained safe in the attack.
Capital City Police Chief Qazi Jamil ur Rehman reached the spot and cordoned off the area. According to reports, the firing was the result of the adviser’s personal issue with his neighbors. Sources added that four provincial ministers have also reached to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa inspector of police to protest the lack of action to resolve the issue.
