PESHAWAR, 02 December: The Fata Development Council has approved various development schemes of over Rs.1.6 billion for the development and prosperity of tribal areas. A meeting of the council was held here on Wednesday with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan in the chair.

 

The council approved Rs. 307.579 million for the construction of 19 kilometer road from Bara to Tirah Maidan and reconstruction and rehabilitation of 10 Kms road in Zakha Khel Bazar area in Khyber agency. The meeting also approved Rs. 354.382 for the widening and improvement of 20 km Dwatoi to Shin Kumar road in Khyber agency.
Besides, a handsome amount of Rs.361.191 million was approved for the establishment of municipal committee and provision of municipal services in Bara Bazar. The meeting also approved Rs.369.671 million grant-in-aid for the Cadet College Wana, in South Waziristan.

 

Speaking on the occasion the governor said that efforts are being made to remove the sense of deprivation prevailed among the Fata people and facilitate them in all spheres of life.

He stressed that merit and transparency should be followed in execution of the developmental projects.
