PESHAWAR, 5 September: Foreign Office Spokesman Qazi Khalilullah said on Friday that so far 200 billion rupees have been disbursed on military operation in North Waziristan Agency (NWA), codenamed Zarb-i-Azb.

He told a press briefing in Islamabad that the abovementioned amount also include compensations given to the affectees of the military operation. Pakistan paid this amount from its own kitty, he added.

He went on to add that the financial support of United States was meant for actions before the NWA operation was started. However, talks are in progress with the US for more funds.

It merits a mention here that US has released over 1,300 billion rupees funds to Pakistan since 2001, which has been named as Coalition Support Fund. However, the Obama administration has announced to stop this fund by the end of this year.
