PESHAWAR, 8 November: The Independent Monitoring Unit of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has deducted fine of Rs30 million from the salaries of the Health Department officials for remaining absent from duties.
It has been revealed in a report of the Independent Monitoring Unit about the Health Department from 2015 to 2017. The report says action has been taken against 12,027 employees of the Health Department in 1,580 hospitals and health centres over negligence in performing duties. It says salaries of 31 employees have also been withheld.
The report mentions that show cause notices have been issued to 99 doctors, 23 doctors and other officials have been expelled from jobs and warnings have been issued to 4,061 doctors and other health staff. The report also pinpoints problems and lack of facilities at the basic health units.
