TANK, 4 November: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman on Saturday said that Fata was backward not because of Frontier Crimes Regulation but due to policies of rulers.

He said that while addressing peace conference in Tank where large number party leaders and activists were present.

He said that there was no ban on development projects in education, health and communication sectors in FRC then why the law was used as an excuse to hide its own failures.

He said that there was no FCR in Balochistan yet the province was even backward then Fata. “The fact is that Fata and Balochistan both are being kept backward under a conspiracy,” he said.

He said that merging Fata with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be a historical blunder, instead making it a separate province would be in favour of its people.

He asked the government to avoid deciding Fata’s future before its complete reconstruction and vowed to raise voice for the rights of tribal people on every platform.

JUI-F leader also criticized provincial government for registering seminaries and said that hundreds of ulema have been died for cause of peace and democracy but the government still doubt role of seminaries.

He said declaring the seminaries dens of terrorists was unjust and unacceptable.
