PESHAWAR, 28 June: Legendary Sri Lankan batsman and wicketkeeper Kumar Sangakkara has announced retirement from Test cricket.

Talking to media in Colombo yesterday, Sangakkara said the second Test against India in August will be his last match. He said he will participate in the third Test against Pakistan which will begin on 3 July.

Sangakkara has made 12,305 runs in 132 Tests, which include 38 centuries and 52 fifties. He has the Test average of over 58 runs which is higher than Sachin Tendulkar.

Sangakkara has already announced retirement from ODIs and T-20s.
