KHAR, 15 December: Thanks to the inability of the agency education department to provide or hire teachers, a girls’ primary school built about seven years ago in Bajuar tribal agency could not be made operational, local people said.

“The government constructed the building of the Ghafoor Shah girls’ primary school, but still it doesn’t serve the purpose due to unavailability of teachers. Regrettably, our daughters go faraway for learning,” said Siraj, a local tribesman.

“The village has about 40,000 population but the government has not been paying any heed to our basic needs,” he lamented, and in the same breath, demanded of the government to provide teaching staff to the school and secure the future of the minor girls.

When contacted, an official of the education department told TNN that summary pertaining to hiring of staff for the school was dispatched to Safron ministry, but no response had been received as yet.
