School teacher fired on corporal punishment charges

LANDI KOTAL: A School teacher has been fired for corporal punishment here in Landi Kotal Tehsil of Khyber District on Wednesday.

According to details, Muhammad Haroon, a teacher at Rising Public School in Ghani Khel area of ​​Landi Kotal had allegedly tortured Rehan, a student of the school. The video of the victim student also went viral on social media and citizens have asked the KP government for strict action against that teacher after which the local administration summoned the Principal and teacher.

The district administration later issued orders for the school principal to terminate teacher Mohammad Haroon from the school for alleged torture of the student. The school teacher also sought a formal apology from the student and his family.

On the occasion, Nadeem Khan, Tehsildar, said that teacher, who tortured the student has been fired from his job on the special instructions of Deputy Commissioner of Khyber Mehmood Aslam Wazir. He said that the staff of any public school and private school will not be allowed to torture students and strict action will be taken against the offending staff.

Daily Wager killed during an operation against encroachment

SHABAQADAR: A daily wager has died during an anti-encroachment drive in Shabaqader Bazar of Tehsil Charssadda on Wednesday. The death of the man has stirred protested on behalf of his relatives and local citizens, who alleged that the assistant commissioner has knocked downed the man due to which he died on the spot.

After the incident, relatives and the locals staged a protest against the killing of the daily Wager, keeping the body on the road. The protesters demanded that a case be registered against the Additional Assistant Commissioner. Later, the protesters withdrew their protest, but an FIR was not yet registered, untill the hospital issue post mortem report.

The son of the late daily wager Mian Gul told the media that his father used to sell Naswar on the ground on Peshawar Road in Shabqadar. He added that the Assistant Commissioner Shabqadar has been engaged in vigorous operations against overcrowding and inflation for the past several days.

He alleged that when Assistant Commissioner raided the market, Mian Gul was already upset by due heavy fines and when he protested, the Assistance commissioner allegedly pushed him back due to which he died on the spot.

Additional Assistant Commissioner Jehan Syed has said that the routine operation was underway in the Shabdar Bazaar and repudiated that has pushed any person. He added that the daily wager was already unconscious in the market, at which he ordered people to take him to the hospital.

According to police, the body of the deceased person has been shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Shabqadar for post mortem.
