Schools, hospitals of erstwhile Fata in shambles: Siraj

GHALLANAI: The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Sirajul Haq said on Wednesday that the schools and hospitals of the erstwhile Fata are in shambles due to apathy of the successive governments.

Addressing an election rally of the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) in Darwazgai area of Safi tehsil in Mohmand tribal district, Siraj said election cannot be won through the use of money. He said the upcoming general elections will be a contest between the ‘culture and clubs’.

The JI chief said the youth of the country are not prepared for slavery. He said the corrupt rulers in the past handed over Dr Aafia Siddiqui to the US for money. He said such rulers can do anything for their personal interest.

Siraj insisted that the MMA has awarded all its tickets on merit. He said the MMA will bring a revolution for Islamic Pakistan and prosperous Pakistan on 25 July by winning the elections.

Meanwhile, five people, including a local journalist, were injured when stage fell during the JI rally.
