CHARSADA, 10 December: Police here Thursday called upon the administration of government as well as private educational institutions to beef up security of schools to thwart any untoward happening.

A meeting of the principals of government and private schools of tehsil Tangi was held here in the office of deputy superintendent of police.

The meeting was told that the measures had been taken to avoid any untoward situation as the nation would be observing the first anniversary of the APS attack where more than 140 school children and their teachers were brutally killed by terrorist in Peshawar last year.

The participants of the meeting were asked to install security cameras in their schools, raise the height of the boundary walls and ban the entry of irrelevant persons in the educational institutions.

On this occasion, the principals of the government schools demanded of the government to increase the number of watchmen and security guards in the schools.

A police official told TNN that a special team has been constituted to inspect the security measures taken by the schools’ administrations. The official also asked parents to make their children understand not to take anything from unknown individuals.
