MARDAN: Though half of academic year has been passed but students of grade eighth in Government High School Badar Bandai are still waiting for textbooks.

According to TNN correspondent, Education Department was bound to provide textbooks to all students of public sector schools across the district till month of March.

“Six months have passed but students of eighth grade are yet to get their textbooks,” said a teacher of the school. There are more than 30 students in seventh grade who also have not been given mathematics textbook.

Besides, ninth grade students of Mashal Khan Killay in Katlang tehsil of Mardan are also waiting for chemistry book while eighth graders are waiting for Arabic books. Teachers at Shankar High School and High School Sarfaraz Killay said that dozens of students in ninth and tenth grades have received their science books.

They said that midterms examinations are round the corner while hundreds of students lack books. Haji Rahman, the man responsible for distribution of books in schools, said that textbooks have been delivered to each and every schools.

He said that principals of the schools should have contacted him instead of playing with future of students.
