PESHAWAR, 15 July: The second match of the ODI series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be played today at Pallekele.

Pakistan lead the five-match series 1-0 after defeating Sri Lanka in the first match by six wickets at Dambulla. The match will begin at 2:00pm (PST).

Pakistan are expected to go into the match without making any changes from the first match. However, Sri Lanka are considering changes in the bowling department due to failure of their bowlers in the first ODI. Light showers have also been predicted during the match.

Pakistan need to win the ODI series to consolidate their position in the International Cricket Council (ICC) ODI rankings for securing place in the 2017 Champions Trophy. Seven teams, including Bangladesh, have already been selected for the mega event. Either Pakistan or West Indies will be left out of the tournament. Pakistan are currently ranked at eighth position, while West Indies are holding ninth position in the ICC ODI rankings.
