KHAR: First time after Independence of Pakistan, a security check post has been established in Asil Targha area of Barang tehsil in Bajaur tribal district.
A check post has been established in first phase, while two more check posts will be set up in the second phase. The sources said it is first time in 73 years history of Pakistan that security check posts are being set up in the far off Asil Targha area situated in a difficult terrain. The area also remained deprived of basic facilities since independence of the country.
Now after merger of erstwhile Fata with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, fruits of development are starting reaching the area. The construction of a road in the area has also been started with a cost of Rs400 million to facilitate the local population.
The elders of Asil Targha had recently requested the Sector Headquarters North, Bajaur Scouts, Bajaur Police and district administration to set up security check posts in their area which had been kept deprived of development since long. The demand of the area elders was accepted and a check post has been established, while two more check posts will also be set up soon. The elders thanked the concerned authorities for paying heed to their demands and hoped that it will improve law and order situation and also help in resolution of other problems of the area.
The elders of Asil Targha had also demanded the Frontier Corps North for resolution of the long standing problem of water shortage. In this regard, the Frontier Corps Headquarters and Bajaur Scouts are sponsoring the establishment of a solar tube well in Sapray area of Asil Targha which is near completion. The completion of the project will help resolve water shortage problem in the area. It is the first project for addressing the water shortage problem, while more such projects are also being planned.
The area residents are hoping that now their problems are coming into the notice of the concerned authorities and the same will be resolved gradually. They said they are waiting for completion of the solar tube well project which will reduce their difficulties to a great extent.
