GHALLANAI, November 24: The security forces have imposed curfew in all markets of Haleemzai tehsil in Mohmand Agency.
The forces have also asked the shopkeepers to pull down their shutters instantly.
Officials of the political administration say the area had been cordoned off due to security concerns. However, the security personnel and administration officials have denied providing further details regarding the curfew.
Meanwhile, the sudden shutter-down has caused financial loss to hotels and the grocery and fruit sellers.
The Mohmand is one of the agencies in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan, created in 1951. Nowadays the permanent agency headquarters is at Ghallanai.
In 2009, the Pakistani military launched Mohmand Offensive, also known as Operation Brekhna (Operation Thunder) against the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan in the agency.
