KHAR: The security forces foiled an attack by the militants based in Afghanistan in Bajaur tribal district on Tuesday night.

The security sources said the militants on Afghan side launched attack on Ghakhi check post in Bajaur tribal district in the night. The security forces promptly retaliated and foiled the attack. No life loss was reported in the attack on Pakistani side.

Sources said one militant commander was killed in the retaliatory firing by the Pakistani security forces. The militants fled after effective retaliation by the security forces.

Militants based in Afghanistan often launch attacks on Pakistani security forces which often result into casualties. The Pakistani civil and military officials have raised the issue of cross-border attacks with the Afghan officials several times, but the issue remains unresolved.
