MIRANSHAH: In a unique development, the people of Shewa tehsil of North Waziristan tribal district have performed the ground-breaking ceremony of the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) office in their area and also launched construction work.

The ground-breaking on Nadra office was performed by the leaders of Kabalkhel tribe including Malik Sultan, Asadullah, Riaz and Aman Wazir who were also accompanied by the local youth in large number.

Malik Aman Wazir, representative of the Kabalkhel youth, said while talking to TNN that the local people have initiated construction work on the office on self-help basis. He was confident that this effort of the tribesmen will bear fruit and the office building will be completed in similar fashion.

Malik Aman said no government official or representative of any department has contacted them for help in this regard. They said construction of the Nadra office by the government was announced and a no-objection certificate in this regard was also issued by the deputy commissioner, and they were committed to complete the structure as soon as possible. He said it is a matter of pride for the tribe to establish the Nadra office on self-help basis and they will not hesitate to offer any sacrifice in this regard.

The area people said they had earlier established the Nadra office in a tube-well vicinity, but that was too congested and people visiting there, especially the women and elderly persons, faced many difficulties. They said now a suitable location has been selected for this purpose to facilitate the people and reduce their difficulties.

In the same area, a Nadra office has been inaugurated in the area on 14 February.

Last month, Nadra initiated a mobile service in North Waziristan. The Nadra vehicle has been arranged for the people of North Waziristan to reduce their difficulties and facilitate them till the establishment of a full-fledged office in Miranshah.

Earlier people had to travel to Mir Ali for their issues related to computerised national identity cards (CNICs) and Form-B, but now they are facilitated by the Nadra mobile service. The Nadra mobile van facility is available in Civil Colony in Miranshah where people are coming in large number daily to resolve their problems related to CNICs.
