MARDAN, 14 November: A seminar on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was organised in Mardan on Friday.
The purpose of the seminar arranged by Mardan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MCCI) was to create awareness about the importance of the mega project. Speakers at the seminar said the mega project will benefit the whole region and job opportunities will be created for the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Dr Zahoor, who was chief guest at the seminar, told TNN that CPEC will help overcome energy crisis in Pakistan. He said the mega project will reduce land distance between Pakistan and Central Asia by 500 kilometres.
“The CPEC project will resolve the energy crisis issue to a great extent as it will produce electricity equal to 72 percent existing capacity of Pakistan,” Dr Zahoor said.
“It will also create job opportunities and consumers will get good quality products due to creation of industrial zones,” he said.
