WANA, 27 October: Army says that at least seven personnel of paramilitary force  Frontier Corps (FC) were killed when  a check post in Angoor Adda, northeast of South Waziristan Agency came under fire early Tuesday morning.

The media wing of Pakistan army the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said “The terrorists opened heavy fire from across the Pak-Afghan border early on Tuesday”.

The Pakistan Army claimed to have cleared South Waziristan Agency from militants during operation Rah-e-Nijaat which began in 2009. Military operation  Zarb-i-Azb is underway against militants in North Waziristan Agency that shares a long border with SWA since June last year. The army has claimed clearing all the agency from militants except some parts of Shawal Valley.

Similarly Pakistan army has flushed out militants from Tirah Valley of Khyber Agency in recently concluded operation Khyber 2.As a result of the successive operations in the three agencies, a large number of local and foreign militants have fled across the border in Afghanistan.

A month back four soldiers of Pakistan army were killed when a security check post, in Tirah Valley of Khyber Agency, was attacked by militants from Afghanistan side of the border
