PESHAWAR, October 2: A bomb blast in a passenger coach left seven people dead and four injured in the provincial capital Peshawar.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operation Najeebur Rehman said the passenger coach was travelling from Peshawar to Kohat at morning when a bomb planted in the vehicle exploded at the Bazidkhel bus stop.
The official said that most of those killed were students who were going home on Eid holidays. The injured were taken to the Lady Reading Hospital in the city.
Additional Inspector General (AIG) of the bomb disposal squad, Mr Shafqat Malik, said that five kilograms of explosives were used in the attack.
The explosion took place hours after killing of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Asif Mehmood near the Yakatoot Police Station.
Last week, a high-ranking military official Brigadier Khalid Bajwa escaped a suicide attack in Peshawar. The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) later claimed the attack on Mr Bajwa.
