BANNU/LAKKI MARWAT, May 11: Seven people were shot dead in separate incidents in Bannu and Lakki Marwat districts, the police say.

Mr Jalil, in-charge of the Bannu Cantt Police Station, said the families of Mr Muhammad Sher and Mr Khaista Noor had a land dispute for years. He said the two sides exchanged fire today morning, killing three brothers of Mr Sher and two of his other relatives. Three members of Mr Noor’s family were also injured in the clash.

In separate incident, two people were killed in Lakki Marwat district. The police say Mr Aziz Khan and Mr Zarif Khan were ambushed in Behramkhel area of the district.

The police say they have arrested one Sikandar in the case and that raids were being conducted to arrest Mr Sikandar and Mr Muhammad Shah, who have also been nominated in the FIR.

An FIR, meaning First Information Report, is a written document prepared by police in Pakistan when they receive information about the commission of a crime.
