PESHAWAR: Several girl students of a government girls higher secondary school in Peshawar fainted due to corporal punishment here on Wednesday.
According to media reports, the vice-principal of the school allegedly have beaten over 20 female students of Sahibzada Umar Shaheed Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Peshawar. The reports quoting students suggest that several girls fainted during the course of punishment.
“This practice is totally unacceptable and we are looking into this matter,” said a statement of KP Commission on Status of Women.
As per the reports and school students, the vice-principal beat up students of 9th, 11th and 12th classes. A student said a majority of the students fell unconscious after the brutal corporal punishment.
