BARA, 1 June: Shalobar Eleven have won the Yoon Cricket Tournament organised by a welfare organisation in Bara area of Khyber Agency.

In the final math of the tournament at Qambarabad ground yesterday, Khyber Eleven batted first and scored 100 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Shalobar Eleven surpassed the total with the loss of five wickets and won the tournament. Twenty-four teams from the area took part in the tournament.

A large number of people came to watch the match. The spectators told TNN that such sports activities should be organised regularly in the tribal areas to promote peace.

“Thousands of people came to enjoy the match. Life has returned to our deserted grounds after several years. We demand the FATA Secretariat and government to construct a sports complex and sports grounds in our area,” a spectator told TNN.

“We are very happy that such a healthy activity is arranged in our area,” another local person said.
