PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Shaukat Yusafzai on Thursday resigned as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government spokersperson.
Officials at Chief Minister House confirmed and said that Shaukat Yousafzai sent his resignation to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
He said he resigned from his position as he wanted to keep by-polls transparent. He is going to contest by-polls from provincial assembly constituency that he won but elections were declared null and void by Elections Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
The ECP decided to conduct by-polls in the KP assembly constituency on the complaints of low female voter turnout. Yousafzai approached to courts against ECP decision but failed to stop by-polls in the constituency
