PESHAWAR, 4 November: Veteran Pakistani all-rounder Shoaib Malik has announced retirement from Test cricket.

Addressing a press conference after conclusion of third day play of the third Test against England in Sharjah on Tuesday, Shoaib Malik said the purpose behind Test retirement was to focus on 2019 World Cup. He said he also wants to spend some more time with his family.

Shoaib scored 1,898 runs in 35 Tests and got 29 wickets.

The 33-year-old all-rounder made a comeback in Tests after five years in the first Test against England in Abu Dhabi. He scored his career-best 245 in that match.
