PESHAWAR: Chairman of Pakistan People Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the PPP or Sindh government has no objection in giving 3 percent share of National Finance award to tribal districts.

He alleged that the PTI government is trying to create rifts among provinces and to further strengthen the centre instead of descending powers to provinces. Bilawal claimed that the former president Asif Ali Zardari has increased funds for the tribal area by 500 percent for its development.

Bilawal was addressing at ‘meet the press program’ of the Peshawar press club on Friday. Former Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, PPP KP president Humayun Khan and local leaders of the party were also present on this occasion.

Bilawal claims that it was the promise of the PPP founder and former Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto to merge the tribal districts with the province. Adding that for this vision, it was former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, who has struggled for several decades to merge and mainstream the tribal area.

Bilawal said that Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto has visited every district of the tribal area with the efforts to mainstream it. The PPP chairman said that PPP or Sindh government has no objection on giving 3 percent share of National Finance award for the uplift of tribal districts. He alleged that the PTI government is trying to create rifts among the province and further strengthen the centre instead of descending powers to provinces. Bilawal claimed that the former president Asif Ali Zardari has increased funds for the tribal area by 500 percent for its development.

The PPP chief said that they will never allow any change in the 18th constitutional amendment to the constitution as it has guaranteed the rights of the provinces. He accused that PTI and PM Imran Khan for efforts to roll back the amendment, but the PPP will never backtrack from its ideological stance and will offer resistance to protect the autonomy of federating units under the 18th amendment.

The chairman of PPP criticized the PM minister Imran Khan of being a ‘selected’ prime minister having an inability to run the country. The PPP Chief said that the right solution of all the present crises faced by the country is democracy and protection of human rights.
