CHARSADDA: The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) ameer Sirajul Haq has declared assets worth Rs2.9 million in the documents submitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for contesting election from NA-23 constituency of Charsadda.

The senator from JI stated in the documents that he owns four-and-a-half tolas gold, share in 12 kanals family land and also a share in a private school. He has over Rs1.8 million in three bank accounts.

The two-time provincial finance minister doesn’t own any personal vehicle. He has no assets abroad and he is not a bank defaulter.

Sirajul Haq will face a tough contest from strong candidates like the Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) chief Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Anwar Taj and Awami National Party (ANP) candidate Gulzar Ahmed Khan if he decided to go ahead for the election from this constituency.
