PESHAWAR, September 25: A union of the working women has demanded the government must include the home-based workers in the category of labourers and provide them the minimum wages as specified by the government in labour laws.

On 24 September, members of skilled women told a seminar at the Peshawar Press Club that more than 2,000 women were working inside their homes in Peshawar, Charsadda, Swabi, Mardan and Swat districts and that they get only 2500 to 3000 rupees wages per month.

Members of the union demanded the government to develop the skills of those women and also facilitate them that they access the main markets.
