PARACHINAR, 02 July: Lower Kurram Agency administration on Sunday foiled a smuggling attempt that aimed delivery of illegal medicines in Upper Kurram from Afghanistan and arrested two persons.
Kurram administration in a statement said that the smugglers were trying to smuggle the illegal medicines from Afghanistan to Upper Kurram in a tractor-trolley via tricky roads. However, they were arrested at the Balash Khel check post and seized the medicines, administration added. Administration said that medicines included Iranian, Indian and Korean companies’ medicines whose sale is illegal in Pakistan.
Sources alleged that medical stores sell these illegal medicines openly in the agency whereas the administration did not take action against the people involved in the business.
