LAKKI MARWAT, 29 October: The Wildlife Department of Lakki Marwat has foiled smuggling bid of precious falcons to Karachi and arrested a smuggler.

Lakki Marwat Wildlife Department chief Khan Malook said on Wednesday that checking was conducted on all the roads after a tip off about smuggling of falcons. He said eight falcons being smuggled to Karachi were recovered from a passenger bus during checking in Wanda Banochi area. He said the smuggler, Amjid Ali, who belongs to Mardan, was also arrested.

Mr Malook said these falcons worth Rs10 million were to be further smuggled to Gulf countries. He said the falcons are used for hunting other birds in Gulf countries.
