SWAT, 22 July: A soldier of Pak Army died and four others including tehsil nazim of Buner got injured in two separate IED blasts in the scenic Kalam valley of district Swat was on Friday, security sources said.
According a military spokesman the first incident happened when the vehicle of tehsil nazim Buner Sayed Salar Jehan was hit by a roadside IED planted by unknown miscreants in the afternoon.
Salar Jehan and his two other fellows got injured in the blast, the spokesman added.
The second blast was carried out on a military vehicle when it was coming back from the site of the first blast. A soldier was killed while another sustained injuries.
Soon after the blast, security forces started search operation in the surrounding areas but no arrest has been made till filing of the report.
Meanwhile, at least seven people including children were injured in a remote control blast in Quetta, police said.
According to SSP Operations Syed Nadeem, the blast took place on Saryab road on Friday morning. The injured were shifted to nearby hospital for treatment. Police has arrested a suspected person from the site of the blast, SSP added.
