MIRANSHAH: A security personnel was martyred in firing of terrorists from across the Pak-Afghan border in North Waziristan tribal district on Friday.

Security sources said terrorists attacked a security check post on Pakistani side in which Betani Rifles personnel Nakash Khattak embraced martyrdom. Sources said the Pakistani troops retaliated after which the terrorists escaped. No terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.

Terrorists from Afghan side often attack Pakistani border security posts which cause human and material losses. Pakistan has lodged several protests with Afghanistan over such attacks.

Exactly one week ago, on last Friday, five terrorists were killed as the Pakistan Army repulsed multiple cross-border attacks on its check posts in North Waziristan. During the exchange of fire, three soldiers also embraced martyrdom.
