BANNU: Traffic incidents have been increased on the newly-built Bannu-Miran Shah Road due to unavailability of speed breakers and over-speeding.

Two days ago, a speeding truck crushed to death an eight-year seminary student Muhammad Yousaf on the road near Gareez area in FR Bannu.

This is the fifth incident on the road since last one and a half year while several have been injured due to over-speeding.

A local elder Allah Noor told Tribal News Network said that there was no speed-breaker on the road even in most populated area on sides of the road.

He said that there were schools and seminaries along the road while the drivers did not follow traffic rules and maintain speed limit due to which accidents became a routine matter.

Another elder Malik Hamid said that they have constructed speed breakers but the government demolished them.

Meanwhile, TNN learnt that Yousaf was on eight days leave and his mother sent him to buy an ice cream for him where he met this traffic accident. Yousaf was the only brother of four sisters and was buried at his ancestral graveyard.
