PESHAWAR, January 24: A Students Senate has been established in the Islamia College University Peshawar to provide opportunities to the students to participate in the academic and co-curricular activities.

Islamia College University Peshawar Vice Chancellor and Students Senate Chairman Professor Ajmal Khan took oath from 80 members of the students’ body.

The Students Senate has also been given the responsibility of informing the teachers about the problems of students.

“The students lacked leadership and it was difficult to convey their messages to the administration. We decided to select people from amongst them to play a leadership role for them. The students obtaining first positions in their departments will be made members of the Students Senate,” Prof Ajmal said.
