PESHAWAR, October 15: At least seven people including two children were killed in a suicide attack on local peace committee volunteers in Tirah Valley, Khyber Agency at morning.
The explosion also injured 10 people who were shifted to private clinics in the area.
Official sources say a meeting of the peace committee was under way in the Zakhakhel area of Khyber Agency when the suicide bomber blew himself up, killing five volunteers of the peace committee and two children who were passing by the venue at the time of the blast.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Mr Mehtab Ahmed Khan told a western news agency that the top provincial official condemned the attack and directed authorities to ensure best care for the injured.
So far, no-one has claimed responsibility for the attack. Tirah valley is a far-off area of Khyber Agency on the Pak-Afghan border.
