PESHAWAR, 30 August: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has rejected the appeals of 16 terrorists who were awarded death sentences by the military courts.

According to media reports, these terrorist were arrested for involvement in attacks on the Army Public School, Bannu Jail and security personnel and the military courts had awarded them death sentences.

The Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali said in its verdict on Monday that the military courts fulfilled all the legal requirements before awarding death sentences to terrorists and the sentences were in accordance with the law.

The court verdict said the allegation of bias or one-sided verdicts on the courts is not right. It said the Constitution doesn’t allow unnecessary intervention into the verdicts of the military courts.
