PESHAWAR, 9 August: A suspected Congo virus woman patient from Jamrud area of Khyber Agency has been brought to Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC) in Peshawar.
The hospital’s spokesman Tauheed Zulfikar said the 48-years-old Zar Bibi was brought to the hospital on Monday with strong fever complaint. He said the woman is getting treatment at the hospital and her blood samples have been sent to laboratory for tests.
The spokesman said if confirmed it will be the fifth Congo virus case this year. Forty-five people had been brought to the hospital on suspicion of Congo virus during the last five years and the tests of 15 of them were positive. Out of 15 positive cases, 13 patients lost their lives.
