SWAT: A police search and strike operation in Swat turned deadly when gunfire erupted during a raid on the house of a wanted suspect. The exchange of fire resulted in the death of a police constable and injuries to a sub-inspector.
According to the police, the suspect, Amir Zeb, opened fire, injuring Sub-Inspector Amjad Khan, who sustained a gunshot wound to the right side of his face. He was rushed to Saidu Sharif Hospital, where doctors confirmed his condition as stable and provided immediate medical treatment.
Meanwhile, Constable Niaz Muhammad was critically wounded after being shot in the ear. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries.
A fierce gun battle between police, locals, and armed robbers near Wanda Painda Khan on Darra Tang Road, Lakki Marwat, left one bandit dead while another was arrested in an injured state.
According to police reports, the gang’s ringleader, Furqan, a resident of Berigi Hakim Khan, was killed, while his accomplice, Reibbat Khan, was taken into custody with injuries. A third member, Muhammad Ali, managed to escape.
The incident unfolded when local police and community volunteers received intelligence that three armed robbers on a motorcycle were preparing for a heist. Acting swiftly, a team led by SHO Tariq Mehmood of Thana Saddar pursued the suspects. Upon spotting the police, the robbers attempted to flee but were intercepted. A firefight ensued when the suspects opened fire on the pursuing officers.
In the exchange of gunfire, Furqan was shot dead, while Ribbat Khan was captured in an injured state. The third suspect, Muhammad Ali, escaped. Police recovered stolen money, weapons, and the motorcycle used in their crimes.
