Protestors seek ban on toy-weapons--Rafiullah.

MINGORA, 12 July: Residents of Mingora have protested against the sale of toy-guns at the Taj Chowk today.

They were holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans seeking complete ban on the sale of toy-guns. Talking to TNN, the protestors said that Mingora bazaars have been flooded with toy-guns ahead of Eidul Fitr. They said that toy-guns have a very negative impact on the minds of children. The government should completely ban the sale of toy-guns, they said.

“They [parents] do not make endeavours to get their kids educated but give them toy-guns. How can we go forward with such a mentality?” queries a demonstrator.

Another protestor said: “We’ve staged this protest because pen is being replaced by toy-weapons. We are of the view that this trend should be discouraged by imposing an all-time ban on toy-guns.”
