PESHAWAR, 11 July: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has removed Ziaullah Afridi from the ministry of minerals development.

Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) provincial spokesman Shaukat Yousafzai said that the decision regarding removal from the ministry was taken at a meeting of the party’s core committee. He would have to stay away from the ministry till his case is decided, he said, clarifying that so far Afridi has not been served on show-cause notice.

Afridi was remanded into Ehtisab Commission custody for 13 days on Friday after the commission arrested him for his alleged involvement in granting mining contract violating the set rules and corruption.
