PESHAWAR, 12 October: Teachers in colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Fata continued their boycott from classes for fourth consecutive day against appointment of Board of Governors in colleges.

The protesting teachers have been asking the government to fulfill their demands regarding up gradation, regularization of teaching assistants and withdrawing decision to appoint BoGs.

In this regard, a delegation of protesting college lecturers met with Chief Minister Pervez Khattak where the latter agreed to withdraw the decision regarding BoG’s appointment but refused to accept other demands.

After refusal to fulfill all demands of teachers, they decided to continue their protests and announced to launch province-wide protest drive. Meanwhile, students in different districts of KP have staged protest against teachers boycott and demanded of the government to find out a viable solution to the issue.
