JAMRUD, 4 October: The third Kashif Shaheed T20 cricket tournament began at Jamrud Sports Complex on Sunday. In the first match of the tournament, Pak Khyber club defeated Young Tauheed team by 48 runs. Pak Khyber batted first and made 161 runs in twenty 20 overs. In response, Young Tauheed only scored 117 runs.
A total of twenty five teams are participating in the event. The tournament is organized every year in memory of late Kashif Shaeed who was killed along with a number of people in a suicide attack on a mosque in Ghundi area of Jamrud some three years back. Kashif was a cricket fan and player who contributed a lot to the promotion of cricket by organizing several cricket events in Khyber Agency.
