ISLAMABAD: The former prime minister of Pakistan has shown resentment over the acquittal of Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan in SSP Asmatullah torture case.

Speaking outside Ehtesaab court in Islamabad, Sharif stated to media persons that those who have done nothing are facing judicial proceedings while those who should be punished are roaming free.

He also said that it makes a bad impression of the country if a leader tortures the security force and he is not arrested.

He further said that those who have constructed motorways and provided electricity industries are being declared ineligible and are disqualified, said Sharif, adding that the coming elections will prove who is corrupt and ineligible and who is honest.

Criticizing chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, sharif said that they will hold fair and transparent elections and if any party tried to delay the elections process, the public will come to streets in protest.

Answering a question, the daughter of ousted PM, Mariam Nawaz said that Imran Khan’s acquittal order was from the top.

On Thursday, the Anti-terrorism Court (ATC) had acquitted Imran Khan in SSP Asmatullah’s torture case over lack of evidence against him.

In 2014, cases were registered against Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri in sit-in over attacks on PTV, Parliament and SSP AsmatUllah.
