Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak administering polio drops to a child in Shakardara, district Kohat on Friday

PESHAWAR, 10 October: A three-day anti-polio campaign began today (Saturday) in thirteen districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. During the drive a total of 32, 87,429 children under the ager of five years will be immunized against polio virus.

According to Polio Emergency Operation Centre of Health Department, these selected districts include Bannu, Charsadda, Dera Ismail Khan, Hangu, Karak, Kohat, Lakki Marwat, Mardan, Nowshehra, Peshawar, Swat, Tank and Torghar. A total of 9876 polio teams have been deputed for the campaign which include 8444 mobile, 863 fixed and 67 roaming teams whereas 502 transit points have also been set up for the purpose. The three-day campaign will be followed by a catch-up day as well.
