PESHAWAR: Around 6.6 million children upto five years of age would be vaccinated against polio during a three-day campaign in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The drive would continue for five days in North and South Waziristan and Khyber tribal districts. During the drive around 5.7 million children would be vaccinated with anti-polio drops and Vitamin-A oral polio drops, said Emergency Operation Center Coordinator Muhammad Abid Wazir.

The Oral Polio Vaccines would also be given to children in Afghan Refugees camps for which 21858 team including experienced lady health workers, 19161 mobile teams, 1620 fixed teams, 895 transit teams and 182 roaming teams have been constituted under the supervision of 5036 teams.

.Polio teams will also be available at railway stations, bus stands and other public places and all exit and entrance of cities.

Special security measures have been taken for security of polio teams. The campaign will also start in Balochistan where around 9000 mobile teams will administer anti-polio drops and Vitamin-A to 2.5 million children.
