PESHAWAR, 22 May: Three persons, including two children, drowned as bridge of a canal collapsed due to floodwater in Peshawar yesterday.

The administration said the incident happened in Bazidkhel area of Badhber in the provincial metropolis where floodwater from Tirah area of Khyber Agency brought down the Bara bridge. Search for the missing bodies is continuing but no information about them could be received so far.

The local people also staged protest and blocked Ring Road over delay in rescue operation.

A vehicle of a private airline company was also drowned in the same area few months back after which the administration banned the movement of vehicles on the bridge.
